Value-added services at a 3PL warehouse are the jobs done to your product between receiving and shipping: repacking it, labeling it, bundling it, or building it into a display. Each one changes what the retailer or marketplace receives. That is why, at Trifinity, a job is not finished when the last packout is sealed. It is finished when the retailer accepts the shipment at receiving.
We are a family-owned third-party logistics company operating in Kenosha and Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin. For 35 years we have stored, reworked, and shipped consumer products for a small group of brands selling into mass, drug, club, and ecommerce channels. The value-added work happens in the same two buildings that hold your stock, planned with the account team that already knows your SKUs.
Value-Added Warehousing Services, Job By Job
| Service | What it involves |
| Marketplace packouts | Units placed in poly bags with new unit UPCs, then packed into cases with new case UPCs and shipped to Amazon fulfillment centers. This runs daily on our floor. |
| Kitting and multi-packs | Gift sets, variety packs, and bundles assembled from SKUs already in stock, each set up as its own item with its own barcode. |
| Relabeling and over-labeling | New or corrected unit and case labels when a retailer, a packaging change, or a new program calls for them. |
| Display building | Floor stands, PDQs, end-of-aisle displays, and quarter, half, and full pallet club displays, built and filled by our co-packing and display building team. |
| Light assembly | Inserts, component pairing, and simple hand assembly before product ships. |
| Inbound recovery | Container unloading, plus restacking and repalletizing freight that arrives damaged or poorly built, so it can be stored and shipped safely. |
Value-Added Services In A 3PL Warehouse That Ships What It Builds
A repacked case is a new item as far as the retailer is concerned. Its barcode, unit count, and carton have to match what the buyer set up, or receiving can refuse it.
That is why our value-added work does not stop at the workbench. The team that builds your kits and packouts also labels, palletizes, and ships them, so one company answers for the result. If something we built or shipped goes out wrong, we pay to bring it back and send it again. In addition, if a retailer fine came from our work without a doubt, we credit it to you. That is our error guarantee.
Barcodes And ASNs From The Same Team
When a job calls for a new unit UPC, a case UPC, or a new carton label, we create it here. The same people send the advance ship notice (ASN) that tells the retailer what is on the truck. That EDI work is at the core of our B2B fulfillment services. The code on the carton and the code in the ASN come from one source, which leaves far less room for a mismatch.
Repack Work For Lot-Coded And Dated Product
Our buildings are FDA registered, GMP audited by a third party every year, and licensed by the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture. That matters when a repack involves supplements, cosmetics, food, or any product whose lot code and expiry date must stay readable and traceable on the new pack.
Where Your Value-Added Warehousing Happens
Kenosha is our headquarters and Pleasant Prairie our second building, together totaling more than 425,000 square feet on the corridor between Chicago and Milwaukee. Builds start from your written instructions, a bill of materials, and an assembly order, so the last unit of a run matches the first.
Inventory runs on Microsoft Dynamics Business Central. When a job turns loose units into kits or cases, your stock record reflects the change, and you see the same numbers we work from. Jobs are planned with your account manager, who already knows your retailers, your deadlines, and how your product is packed.
Is It Time To Move Your Value-Added Work?
For most brands, the answer is yes when one of these sounds familiar:
- Product leaves the warehouse to be repacked somewhere else, then comes back to ship.
- Amazon or a retailer asks for case counts or barcodes your manufacturer does not supply.
- Damaged inbound freight sits in receiving until someone decides who will rebuild it.
- A promotion needs gift sets or displays, and your own staff end up assembling them.
Start With The Job That Takes You The Most Time
Pick the value-added task that costs you the most effort today: a packout, a relabel, a kit, or a load of damaged freight. Tell us the product, the spec it has to meet, and how often it comes up. We will explain how we would run it, how we would price it, and how it would ship.
Then come and see it in practice. A visit to Kenosha shows you the floor, the people, and work like yours in progress. Systems and EDI setup takes two weeks or less, and new accounts are usually shipping about two months after the first conversation. If the finished goods are headed to Target, Walmart, or Costco, they move straight into our retail distribution program.
Tell us the value-added job that eats the most of your time, along with the product, the spec it has to meet, and how often it comes up. We’ll show you how we’d run it, price it, and ship it. Send Us Your Job Details
Frequently Asked Questions
What are value-added services in logistics?
They are the tasks a logistics provider performs on your product beyond storing and moving it. Kitting, repacking, relabeling, light assembly, and display building are common examples. Each one prepares product for a specific channel, so it arrives in the format the buyer expects.
What value-added services does a 3PL warehouse usually offer?
It varies by provider and by the channels it ships into. Ours are built around retail and marketplace programs: packouts with new unit and case UPCs, kits and multi-packs, relabeling, displays, light assembly, and rebuilding damaged inbound freight.
How is value-added warehousing priced?
Recurring work, such as daily packouts, is priced per item. As-needed jobs are priced per labor hour. We quote each program once we know the product, the spec, and the volume.
Can you repack inventory you already store for us?
Yes. Most value-added warehousing jobs here start from stock already in our racks. Components are pulled against the job’s bill of materials, and the finished units go back into inventory under their new item number, ready for the next order.
Is there anything you do not handle?
We do not accept hazardous materials, and we do not design or print displays. You supply the corrugate and components, and we build, fill, and ship. We also ship to stores and distribution centers rather than setting up displays in the store.
You benefit from our experience in delivering effective solutions to the complex global supply chains of some of the world’s biggest corporations.
You benefit from every innovation, whether it involves a simple extension to our Air and Ocean Freight products, whether it means a development in warehousing.
All of which explains why you’ll find the team of outstanding support at TransCargo ready to apply their passion for solutions in support of your business.
